Hello! I had brought this topic up before, and the answer I received was that LiChess does not automatically resign games.
However, after a month of testing I have been able to confirm that LiChess does automatically resign all games that have not been played after a specific amount of time.
Is this 'behavior by design' and if not, can this option be turned off?

Thibault, I love ya guy, but when someone makes a feedback post that basically says 'I've collected evidence that something you say shouldn't happen is happening' the proper response isn't denial. This isn't a schoolyard and someone didn't just accuse you of eating their cookie.
I'm going to be a bit blunt. There is likely only one thing I dislike about lichess, and it's the bedside manner of the coders. In situtations where something is reported that isn't critical to the gameplay of the majority of users, there is almost always an attitude of 'I don't think it's important so I'll just deny it's even happening.'
If it isn't something you care to look into, because it's considered a trivial issue, there's no reason to tell someone blatantly that whatever they have spent time and energy investigating is a figment of their imagination. Rather than denial, just be honest and say you don't know why it seems to be happening for those with the problem, but that because their concern isn't critical, there's no telling when/if you will be able to investigate it.
So, to allenwjones, I think what thibault is trying to say is...I'm sorry that this is happening to you, it isn't part of the code's intended functionality. However, since it isn't a critical functionality issue that affects the majority of lichess users, it's probably not going to be investigated.
