Did I resign too early?

Interesting to see one of my games on the forum! I was surprised you resign quite so early as anything is possible in blitz - but the likelihood was that rest of the game wasn't going to be fun for you..!
I think it was to early.
1.) in 3min game time is to short for best moves. So there is enough space for mistakes.
2.) for some years I privatly observed "resign decisions" and one of my results were: if a person does not find easily space for the pieces.. ..and the chances to start an attack in near future is near zero, many people like to resign even when they can't be attacked or the position is balanced.
Maybe its helpful to think about that to test a baby for healthy is to hold the arms so that the baby can't move and as a result the baby cries and shows it is healthy. A lot of violence and fighting starts if people are blocked in movement. Stress level is getting rapidly higher with high temperature or beeing not able to move.
The results helped me at talking to sucidal persons (real hope for the person to " have a next move in life" is very important) and deescalation in street fights. if you get yourself in a position (for example next to a latern) were the right arm and leg of the attacker is not able to hit you in the typical hooked way its easier to stop fighting from the start. (be careful they walk to get into a position were they can hit.. so you have to move wise :-) ) ... So.. my argument is the decission to resign in such positions is unbalanced because of lack of possibilities.
3.) Many chess players feel to save in such positions. Making small mistakes on the way changing the position into a win can demotivate and open the door for bigger mistakes in the game.
Psychological ( I'm not fan of this next move) you should start with a draw offer. I know many people fearing the draw offer in better position.. many of them loose after the refused draw offer even in clear better position.

1) totally agree with this - my position is great but not so great it's impossible to lose with 3 minutes on the clock.

2) Not sure I follow this fully in this particular situation as it was one of a series of games rather than a one-off - I suspect the decision was made on the basis of: this position isn't good, I can either struggle on with it for another 5 minutes and probably lose, or resign and start from scratch again right away. From this point of view, it's a bit early but arguably justified.

3) I think I see your point, although I would have considered a draw offer in this position for precisely 0 seconds...! :)
In competitive games I tend to resign when doing so maximizes my overall results (by allowing me to play other games once I have no winning chances).

In casual games I tend to resign when my opponent has outplayed me and I just want to play another game (or quit).
without seeing the game, YES surely it was early !
You were clearly in a much worse position... however it was 3 minute game, and no quick knockout was seen so could have gone for time win
