Have u put the CPU and memory to maximum? when i did that it found Qxh4 instantly
I found 3 mating sequences. The first was mate in 10 with Stockfish. I investigated 2 other sequences including mate in 9 and mate in 10.
I will have a look again but I can't see your point yet. I have probably missed something, I often do!
Sorry, I mean Qxh5 is the best move.

Stockfish shows it #8 in the position after 1.Qxh5 (excluding the first move).
@knives weird thing is it found it the first time for me, i played a game then came back and it couldn't find it which was odd
you say machine is not perfect, but do you know this version of stockfish is rather weak so it is really fast?
and for me it did find it.
You miss one thing, stockfish is not a brute force calculator, it has algorithms that prune variations, which are really bad in the close range of moves (thus drastically speeding up calculation). It works perfectly fine for middlegame in 99.9% of positions.
