Does anyone here also play the chess-like game called Shogi?
I'm not strong at shogi, but I can play it.
I had often played it before I knew chess.
When I find a willing victim, yes, I do.
I call myself the pawn-doubler! Shogi is difficult.
I played more Shogi games than orthodox Chess games, the past 5 years. That doesn't mean much, as I only played 3 Shogi games :))) I won them all, though! Even though two of the opponents were not entirely unexperienced. Apparently watching my own engine play is worth something.
I don't like to play Shogi with the traditional Japanese pieces, however. Too tiring for the eyes.
