Play for control of the centre, they said

White did play for the center and got a quick win, I don't see the issue
Fighting for the center its a principle.
Fighting for initiative is a principle.
Developing minor pieces in the opening is a principle.

c6 attempt to fight for the center, but the question is. How does c6 fights for initiative and develop of minor pieces?

It doesnt. but 2. Nf6 follows all 3 principles and renders that poor opening useless.
1.- It fights for the center by attacking e4.
2.- It forces an opponent response to protect e4.
3.- Develops a minor piece.

You see how following principles help you deal with suboptimal openings?

Who is the moron? To be fair, both, but one is a winner moron.
if you like c6 you can play 1... c6 & if 2 Bc4 you play d5 ! . Qh5 was an error by the way & Black was at least equal after Qe7
"Play for control of the centre" is a good strategy. But that doesn't mean that you should have to ignore all tactics.

>"A strategy describes how the ends (goals) will be achieved by the means (resources)."

The goal is to control the centre. Your resources are your pieces.

>"Tactics are the specific actions or steps you undertake to accomplish that strategy."

Your specific actions are your moves. g6 was your big blunder. The right move was Qe7 (protects the pawns on f7 and e5) and white would have lost his first-move advantage. Qf6 and d5 were also playable (although d5 is hard to see and Qe7/Qf6 are better). But g6 was 1) ignoring your hanging pawn on e5 and 2) giving your opponent the opportunity for a very strong fork.

>A fork is most effective when it is forcing, such as when the king is put in check.

The most important thing: "Morons" can never ruin your game. There is only one guy who can make mistakes on your side and that guy is you.
