Missing the connection between Lichess users

Hey everyone,

@Ice_bear1 here, feeling a bit nostalgic for the lively forum days during lockdown. Do you guys remember the heated debates and unforgettable moments with users like @savage_cactus and @komokid and @A_012345?

Lately, it seems the forum has changed, new names and a slower pace. But hey, why not inject some old excitement back? Engage in current discussions, share your unique point of view, and let's bring back the old magic.

I believe one of the reasons for the slow but steady decrease of posters is because now that the main lockdown is over, people have left the Lichess "world" and when they come back to see how its like they cant fit in.

These days the Off topic discussions are filled with repetitive topics. As a reader, it gets pretty annoying.
Communities evolve, but there's always room for a bit of the past and a dash of fresh energy.

I didn't proof read any of this, I just wrote what I was thinking. hopefully it is readable. not sure why I even wrote this topic now..

Hopefully we see some good topics in the near future =]

Cheers,

@Ice_bear1
One other thing I have noticed.

The topics used to be high quality, each thread would receive 50+ posts in it, I just had a quick look and right now the topics are just sitting at 10 and just die..

To the authors of future threads, please remember quality not quantity.

We, the readers don't want to always read the old "dogs vs cats"

Exactly, lol, 32 pages of responses later.... lol :).
Indeed yes , the popular posts tend to be of this ilk, i would like some decent topics aswell (although mine too are dreadful on the whole, to be honest). :). lol

i guess but like more people are indulging in chess rather than the chess forums, take it as you will
Not possible

You see no one was able to get out of there home and on top of that they had nothing to do like no job and no business so some people started to take interest in many things such as chess which is played online also there were many types of people who played chess and had fun in forums they had no one to talk to and found lichess forums eventually they started to talk in that and now that there is no Covid-19 pandemic people started there new life of being free hence maybe they do not get time to be on forums or social media except for those who really love lichess

And memory is a very strong thing it will make you remember bad thing in a good way too

People in 2020 -man when will this Covid-19 go
Also people in 2022-2023 - those nostalgic times were so good of covid-19 we miss them
