Lichess continuosly joking?

I've already descried privacy problems with 2facor here (github)
Many apps anyway recommending or even requirng this kind of "security"
mean strictly connecting website with your phone.
I don't have to have a phone.

Lichess was never commercial and lichess is NOT from America.
Why does it recommend 2factor?
Is there any way to stop getting notifications (i.e not blocking the chat)?
